Alison McGrath MA, LCPC, LMHC, HT, RYT provides counseling consulting services, individual and couples therapy, coaching, group workshops, retreats, and trainings. Ali utilizes her extensive experience in mind/body modalities and clinical trainings to support motivated clients reach their goals. Through counseling that is empowerment and resilience based, clients find clarity and make change in their lives during and after therapy is completed.
Ali received her formal education from Bowdoin College, and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with an additional specialization in Addictions and Substance Abuse Treatment, from Antioch New England Graduate School. Ali was trained in the Hakomi Method by the Hakomi Institute, then with Ron Kurtz directly in his Master Class work from 2001 to the present, and was invited to become a teacher/trainer by Ron Kurtz who sadly passed shortly thereafter. Ali is a registered yoga therapist and completed training with The Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy, having her utilize yogic practices and meditation practices as an adjunct to her clinical work. Ali is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as numerous other trainings.
Clinically, Ali has worked with all ages and with individuals, couples and families from all over the world, with concerns ranging from extreme trauma to everyday concerns. Ali has training and experience in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and utilizes her training and experience to best serve those who seek her services. Some of the methods Ali has training and experience with are: Hakomi, Ron Kurtz's Refined Method, Resilience Based, Feminist and Multicultural Based Supervision, Person-Centered, Relational, Psychodynamic, Object Relations, CBT, and Mindfulness based therapies, for example.
